All of these resources are chosen in support of the NVACS for Social Studies. Items such as the podiums will allow students to share ideas in support of standards like SS.6-8.EWC.15 - Interpret events from a variety of historical and cultural perspectives, including but not limited to Romans vs. "barbarians," conquerors vs. conquered, Mongols vs. Ming Chinese. Items like the Atlases flags of the world and Geography books will help students with standards like SS.6-8.EWC.27- Analyze and explain the cultural, physical, and environmental characteristics of places and regions and how these affected the lives of the people who lived here. All of these items are in support of lessons and material to help students understand the social sciences and to better meet Nevada Academic Content Standards, like the examples given above.
