This project will serve the 20, diverse, 3rd graders in my class in enhancing their writing abilities as they discover the wonder of new things about our world through reading and the use of technology to conduct research, while having the freedom to work in an inviting, safe, and comfortable environment.
The use of Scholastic News will help students stay informed of current events that affect their lives today and into the future as well as build a knowledge base and spark student discovery of social studies and science topics. Students will apply the knowledge acquired from the Scholastic News to complete informational writing assignments.
