Integrating kettlebells into our weight room would allow us to introduce our student-athletes (males and females) to experience using a different type of equipment for strength training. With the use of kettlebells, athletes can engage in the following full-body exercises: squats, swings, deadlifts, bent-over rows, high pulls, lunges, etc. Currently, our weight room offers incline benches, flat benches, squat racks, plates, and minimal dumbells. A small set of different weighted kettlebells would be useful in creating a station that athletes can rotate into in the hallways area to maximize our allotted time while minimizing wait time for our athletes in between sets. Overall, the kettlebells would be a great addition to our Athletics Program.
