My school has a 45% transiency rate. 100% of the students receive free lunches. 2/3 of the families are considered low socioeconomic status.
LEGOs are considered a luxury for many of my students. I would like to purchase LEGOs and LEGO sets for an after school club where students can create and lose themselves in their imagination. This club would offer an opportunity for students, just for a brief time, to escape from the reality of their own lives.
My students deserve these opportunities as they are not at fault for their living situation.
