These chess materials will be used to help build critical thinking skills as well as social and emotional experiences. Learning and building these skills will transfer into the learning environment.
I currently have about 10 students participating but there are three more classes with approximately 50 students that want to get involved in the project. With these items, I will be able to grow an after-school chess club and help support these learners. Their excitement about playing chess thus far has been extraordinary, so funding my project will only increase the joy!
