While having these headphones with mics will allow the ELL's to practice speaking into a mic, the entire class can practice adapting their speech to a variety of contexts and tasks, demonstrating command of formal English when indicated or appropriate. This will allow them to gain proficiency in the 6th grade English Language Arts standards 6.SL.5 and 6.SL.6.
