Each of these materials will give a chance for students to increase speech and language skills with hands-on materials that have not been able to be used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students thrive from visuals and fun activities to increase both speech and language skills. Engaging activities, such as the games and the hands on materials tend to have students speak more, which will increase their overall language abilities! This is a great opportunity to be able to get new materials as the speech department in our district has never given funds for materials, so all materials are out of pocket! Students are going to be so excited to learn with new, fun and engaging things! Language is taught in so many different ways, and students have deficits in many different areas of language, such as answering wh questions, using prepositional words to follow directions, describing pictures and creating grammatically correct sentences, etc. Picture communications cards will be used in order to help students with articulation errors work on their sounds. We have a sticker reward system, in which students can earn prizes, so let’s help grow our prize box! Teachers Pay Teachers has so many wonderful speech and language materials that have been made by fellow Speech Pathologists. I often buy materials from there, so it would be wonderful to be able to receive a gift card in order to increase my student materials.
