The best part about these instruments, and the reason that I need them for my classroom, is that they can be played by students of all ages and by students who do not have fully developed motor skills. I have many students who would love to play a pitched instrument but can't be handed a guitar or a flute or anything like that. These Boomwhackers are easy to play and provide the opportunity for the students to create music more successfully than with rhythm sticks or clapping. The students would also benefit from being able to see the letter names on the Boomwhackers and connecting those names to a sound.
