These items will make a huge impact in my classroom and help encourage creative, innovative, and mathematical thinkers this year and for years to come! Because of the pandemic, students interaction with peers has been very monimal. In an effort to allow students more peer collaboration, In my class they are given SEED time. SEED stand for systematic exploration, experimentation and discovery time. It is a time to work with peers in an effort to explore and discover new, better, faster, different, and more effective ways of doing things through hands on use of items like these! They learn to create and replicate patterns, use early geometrical concepts to balance and create structures, and learn problem solving skills through trial and error to create things they are proud of. They also utilize fine motor skills, teamwork and collaboration through working with peers in a constructive way towards common goals.
