My hope is that my students will be able to relate to these stories and the characters within these stories. I want them to find a book they love so much it's hard for them to put down.
The best way to inspire students to want to read and to love to read is showing them all the amazing things they can read about.
Many of the books I already have in my classroom are hand me downs, some are even books from when I was an elementary school student. One of the hardest parts of the beginning of the year is finding enough money to purchase all of the things for your classroom. Unfortunately, fun stuff like books are one of the first things to get cut. I'm hoping to turn my tiny classroom library into something amazing!
