CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.3.1: Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.3.2 Recount stories, including fables, folktales, and myths from diverse cultures; determine the central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.3.3 Describe characters in a story (e.g., their traits, motivations, or feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events.
I am requesting books, phonics practice and flashcards, and more to use during daily reading intervention centers! My students will use these literacy materials to build their current phonics and reading skills. The novel studies range from different Lexile levels that my students are performing at. The phonics materials will help support my lower range students into proficiency. Other novels will be able to expose students to higher literary elements and how they are used in texts. Most importantly, these novels are where my students interest lie which will increase their desire to read other works. This project would equip myself and them to become accelerated readers!
