My students were greatly affected by the shutdown. My Second Graders haven’t been in a classroom since Kindergarten. My First graders and Kindergarteners have never been in a classroom. Creating an environment where learning is interactive and communal is so important right now to teach them how to work with others and be on a team.
My students think outside the box and having seating that is out of box gets them excited to learn! Providing seating that allows them to wiggle while they work keeps them focused. When they get to choose where they are learning and working, it gives them ownership of their education. If they feel they have a voice in the classroom, the learning begins.
