Many of my students last year during online learning had some type of instrument at home that they were always excited to share and play. Many of the instruments I saw were ukuleles. My students are very interested in learning to play and build their musicianship skills and the ukulele seems like the best way to start that journey for them. Many of them have older family members who play in mariachi groups, so they naturally have a curiosity about string instruments. The following standards will be directly used during instruction: CCRAS Speaking and Listening 1-6, Language 1-6, NVACS SL.4 (1-3), SS.4.20, MU: CR.1, Cr.2, Pr.5, Pr.6, Re.9, Cn,10, Cn,11.
