We are lucky enough to be learning from the classroom this year, but students are spending many days still learning from home. Students experiencing any symptoms of illness or a quarantine due to a family member must learn from home.
We create engaging digital anchor charts to help students learn about reading standards (i.e.RL.1.3 learn about characters and RI.1.5 learn about text features) and math standards (for example, 1.OA.1 word problem using addition and subtraction strategies). An iPad with an Apple Pencil would greatly assist out content creation process by allowing us to draw models and other graphics to support learning.
The magnetic letters and cookie sheets will be so beneficial to help build literacy skills in small groups with these they can build words, practice spelling, and sight words and will have it be more engaging and hands on.
These young learners need to adapt so much to the new way of learning, whether it be in the classroom or online. They have so much learning to catch up on, and it is up to us as educators to help them achieve their learning goals. Let's make their content as supportive, fun, and engaging as possible!
