I teach special education resource students. My students are working below grade level and the hands-on activities I’ve chosen will help them make deeper connections with the skills I’ve taught. For some of my struggling readers, especially in 5th grade, they are embarrassed that they aren’t able to read like their peers. The independent reading activities provide them an opportunity to practice below grade-level skills without the social embarrassment. The math manipulatives will provide my students with concrete models of concepts like regrouping. Help me fund engaging, independent learning for my students.
