I want a learning environment that promotes success and safety for my students. Students will be able to access a calm down corner with entertaining, calming and overall helpful tools, (e.g. growth mindset books, kinetic sand, drawing activities, legos, breathing cards, squishy, fidgets, Emotion Box set, clay, noise cancelling headphones, bean bag and others) whenever they feel upset instead of just eloping, de-escalation can be manage inside the classroom as needed by utilizing this area. This peaceful spot in the classroom will promote self-regulation, growth mindset and learning. All learners will benefit from this and it will greatly impact our classroom.
