As an ELA resource teacher, I make sure that we address the needs of our individual students in the classroom. Assisting them to read and understand the text/passage and be able to write is one of the major tasks. To achieve this, we are guided with the following: Reading Literature (RL) RL3.1 Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers. Craft and Structure, RL3.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text. Reading Informational Text (RI) RL3.2 Determine the main idea of a text; recount the key details and explain how they support the main idea. RF.3.(4) Fluency RF.3.4 Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension. For Writing W3.4 With guidance and support from adults, produce writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task and purpose.
Resources enhance the learning of the students as guided by the curriculum and the teachers. These will make them succeed in life in whatever they choose to be. The resources in this project would specifically assist them in the read-aloud part since most of them still struggle to read and write. They would also be motivated to strive more, learn in-depth, and take part actively in class. Through these materials that they will get, they would feel appreciated and cared of as individuals.
