This project will assist me in developing effective speech-language communication skills in the areas of receptive/expressive language, social skills, articulation, fluency, and functional communication skills. My students present with delays in these areas and have current IEP's addressing communication delays. The NV Academic Standards being targeted include: RL.3.1, RL3.9, RI3.1, RF.3.3, L.3.1, L.3.3, L.3.4, RL.4.2, L.4.1, L.4.2, L.4.3, L.4.4, L.4.5, RL.5.1, RL.5.4, RL.5.6, L.5.1, L.5.1c, L.5.1d, L.5.2, L.5.4, & L.5.5. These content academic standards are aligned with students' IEP goals/benchmarks and focus on speaking and listening, literature, informational text, reading foundations, and language standards. The products that I have selected will assist my students by giving them effective learning choices when targeting communication skills. Also, I have selected products that will allow me to organize my speech-language materials as I do not have the funds to purchase these much-needed items.
