Since we have returned to in-person learning, I have noticed my student's attention is harder to keep. It's always been hard for some students to sit for long periods of time. I provide flexible seating in my class, like ball chairs, scoop chairs, pillows, cushions, etc. I would like to provide stand up desks to students who have bundles of energy to use throughout the day!
Brain research proves that standing enhances cognitive development as well as increases energy expenditure and physical activity. Leading to a healthier child! Students need to be feel safe, secure, and cared for at school to be successful. Recognizing that students have individual needs and being able to provide for their needs will help them become successful adults!
