MU:Pr4.4.1 With guidance, sing and play instruments to age-appropriate literature. Having ukuleles at Smithridge STEM Academy will be beneficial because my upper grade students, that is, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, are exposed to many instruments in their school year, including pitched and unpitched percussion, recorders, trombones, guitar, and piano, in addition to their voice. If our school has a set of ukuleles, it will enhance their music education experience. We learn the treble notes in 3rd grade, and using ukuleles will be a practical application for treble clef note recognition.
