An English classroom needs books to help enrich and engage the minds of the students. These books will be used for a whole class novel study as well as in class book clubs. This will help them meet the Speaking and Listening standard SL11-12.1, "Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one on one, in groups, and teacher lead) with diverse partners...". My hope is that we will laugh, cry, and learn together. Reading is imperative for success in life! Having access to good books will open my students' minds and hearts. The books I have chosen for this project will give students a chance to learn why people might do the things they do. These books can also help them develop empathy and insight into the lives of others. Literature and language are powerful tools.
