These resources will help our 5th-grade class by giving us the materials needed to increase our reading and math skills as well as science. We are so excited to be back in the classroom and work really hard to master learning benchmarks. Students love to work on centers to strengthen skills while building upon social and teamwork skills. Students beg to work with their buddies on assignments and use their sentence stems to foster positive communication. In the classroom, we learn how to be kind and compassionate humans through academic learning!
The reading and math items will be used for small group targeted instruction to fill in gaps to get students ready for middle school. These will also be used as centers where students will work together to listen and share their thinking with their peers. Because each classroom has students on so many different levels these centers allow students to be placed where they can thrive and continue to grow.
The supplies such as chart paper and construction paper will be used within the centers and classroom. The wobble cushions offer a flexible seating option for students to work. After being home for a year and a half, students often struggle sitting at a desk. They will ask to sit on the floor to work. I will use these in centers and for independent work to give students an outlet to work quietly and stay focused.
With these resources, we will be ready to set sail into middle school.
These resources will be used for the following standards:
Speaking and Listening, Reading: SL.5.1, RF.5.4
Math: 5.OA, 5.NBT, 5.NF, 5.MD,5.G
