During COVID mandatory school closures many students social emotional skills regressed. They have to relearn how to interact with their peers in a new and scary way. I want to make sure to provide my students with the materials they need to safely exercise while learning and developing their social-emotional skills, while improving their physical and mental health. It is imperative to improve the mental health of these students as they re-learn how to interact and cope with peers and emotions.
Help me give these students access to physical education supplies that safely develop their understanding of social-emotional skills and emotional intelligence.
Providing a clean environment is paramount in these critical times. Learning should be meaningful, engaging, and safe. My goal is to teach students the physical and mental benefits of exercise.
During the COVID shutdown, many of our students and athletes lost an entire sports season, and some lost most of the season last year as well. This was devastating on them. For many kids, sports is the driving factor in motivating them to come to school. With many kids, sports are the number one reason why they strive for excellence in the classroom. These sports equipment will support Nevada Physical Education Standards 1.2.4, 3.5.1, 3.2.3. Using this equipment will assist students in their participation in moderate to vigorous activity. For many of our students and athletes, their sports practice is the only physical activity that they experience each and every day.
