By adding a library filled with encouraging books to our classroom, children will have extra tools to aid in their literary and academic success. Books help students escape the stress onset by school academics. But, what they do not realize, while they think they are escaping, they are building other foundations aiding in their successes.
They will have the support of books to help build literacy skills, engaging in motivational sources/books, build critical thinking skills as well as become informed, systematic readers; all of which are vital to develop higher levels of focus and concentration.
I want to try a "read a book to your siblings" project to kick start our youths interest in reading. I feel that young siblings look up to the older, so what better use of books than encouraging and setting examples! So, there is a possibility these books can be used for learning at home as well!
