As an occupational therapist, I utilize various types of materials and games to help build fine motor, visual perceptual/motor, sensory processing, and cognitive skills. I treat a wide range of students from grades Kindergarten to 8th grade. They vary in abilities and skills, so the more items I have on hand, the easier it is for me to help them grow! I love to make crafts because it incorporates a lot of skills but games are also fun and exciting to engage students of all ages. A toy may not look therapeutic to you, but as a therapist, we adapt the game and have a different lens to see the therapeutic value of everything we do. Thank you!
