The students will be able to receive small group interventions on the tablets that are much needed to fill gaps in their learning from a long year of remote teaching. These ELL students already have a difficult time working with a system in a foreign language and on top of that they have less access to materials. A tablet can be used across all subjects to support students with literacy interventions more than anything.
This year we are implementing ELA centers. One of the centers is Independent Daily Reading, another is Writing, the third is Vocabulary, and the fourth is Teacher Time. During Teacher Time, they can be assessed on their literacy skills using the tablet. During Independent work, they can supplement their learning using Raz Kids or Espark.
