I incorporate flexible seating in my classroom to allow students to have the choice of where they want to work. When my students always have to work at their desks, they tend to become less engaged in what they are doing. My students also tend to get up and move around the classroom or fidget while doing their work at their desks.
When my students get choose where they want to work, they are learning how to make good choices for themselves and are more actively engaged. The products I selected for my students will offer them more of a variety of places to sit and surfaces to sit on in my classroom. I currently have different pillows, ottomans, and inflatables that students are allowed to choose to sit on while working. Some of the flexible seating I selected allows for students to move on the seat so they are able to move while working.
Some other products I selected are for progress monitoring students in the year. I also selected products to help with guided, parter, and individual practice. White board work allows for students to practice problems quickly and show the teacher all together. Flashcards will allow for practice of vocabulary or facts with partners or individually.
