Kindle tablets will benefit all my learners in and out of the classroom. I plan to use them in my transitional kindergarten classroom to begin the journey into digital literacy as well as teach them how to be responsible digital citizens. Many of my students come from socially economically challenged areas and have not had much access to digital devices. Digital literacy is a integral part of today's educational environment. It is imperative to give them as much exposure to technology and the academic resources available to them as soon as possible.
These tablets will support my 2nd graders as a tool to engage them and give them supplementary lessons to support their struggles to increase their literacy to their grade level. I plan on sending them home with students that lack digital resources at home and to use in the classroom so that I can give one on one instruction to each student in an individualized plan to supplement my whole group instruction.
