When selecting these items, I took into account how these would affect my students. Although our orchestra is nice and large, increasing our electric string quartet would help increase and renew interest in our program as the COVID pandemic saw a massive hit to our morale as a class. We first came up with this idea as a class to try to further the advancement of our program into new areas and styles of playing. As we enter a post-COVID world we want to try to lift others up with our music which is where expanding our electric instrument selection would come into play as we are able to provide a lot more dazzling sounds.
Expanding our electric string quartet would bring back the joy and passion my students have for orchestra and music as a whole. I want to see the excited looks on my students as they experience the delight that comes from playing electric instruments at a more advanced level. These instruments would be used in performances at school assemblies, festivals, and other non-related school functions. Playing at these events would help my students grow in their playing and give them the satisfaction of being able to bring great music to their fellow peers as they demonstrate their amazing skills as string players.
