Exposing students to a variety of books at their level will help them become better readers for life. They will read books as a class, in small groups, with a buddy and then be given a choice for independent reading. These books should get the kids excited to read, build there stamina, and help them improve their Lexie scores. Third grade is the year of mastery. The selection of books have both fiction and non fiction books. As well as a subscription to a monthly news subscription. Each student will get there own magazine. It also comes with access to videos that go with the articles, and practice pages to increase comprehension and test preparation. These are skills all needed to keep up with state testing. It’s engaging and interesting to the kids. This helps with reading stamina, they want the read. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.3.10 By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poetry, at the high end of the grades 2-3 text complexity band independently and proficiently. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.3.4.A Read grade-level text with purpose and understanding.
