This project will help my students catch up on the basic standards (CCSS ELA-Literacy RL 1.1-1.10) that they missed in first grade and kindergarten because of the Covid pandemic and having to stay home to learn instead of going to school. They will be able to learn the second grade standards (CCSS ELA-Literacy RL 2.1-2.10) in reading and become fluent, proficient readers ready for third grade by the end of the year. Students will be using these books in small guided reading groups and individually for daily reading in class and at home.
