Students will participate in a Congressional Debate that mimics the way the U.S. congress conducts policy debates. The podium and gavels will be used for this purpose. Students will use the short story collections, poems, plays, and scripts to plan and write their own interpretations for the competition. Informative speeches will be enhanced with black poster boards, and students will practice their speaking, listening, and debate skills using the selected games. It is important for students to learn in an interesting, captivating way. These skills are best developed through role play.
