These resources will help our counseling department better address the social and emotional needs of our students in the one on one and classroom setting. We will be able to provide more hands on resources for them to make better choices and give them strategies and coping skills to deal with the struggles of anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
I have fidget toys to help students struggling with ADHD and anxiety to use during class. I requested journals to help them sort their feelings. I requested several mental health related workbooks and games that we can use in individual and group settings with our students. These workbooks have tons of pages of tools to provide students to help themselves. I selected books based on each issue that I have already seen with my students this year. Mental health is the number one concern and issue that we are facing as a school, if we can have the resources to better support our students mental health, we can get them back to learning in the classroom.
