With the use of a color printer, I will be able to effectively create realistic PECS symbols for students to exchange in meaningful conversations with peers and adults in order to answer questions, make choices, and express wants and needs independently. With the assistive technology items, I will be able to provide verbal output options to my nonverbal students, and in essence give them a "voice". Having a paper shredder provides my students experience with prevocational skills of learning how to load paper, and shred documents, and to discriminate between what should be shredded and what to keep. The photo cards and mystery box will allow for fun conversational activities that will facilitate much needed socialization that was removed during the pandemic school closure.
