Your humble donation will help my students increase their expressive vocabulary, respond to questions and communication, and enhance their communicative intent.
My students are non verbal communicators. They use alternative forms of communication like picture icons when initiating interaction with peers and adults. They can pick an icon from their communication book and then request for items or make comments.
In the absence of a dynamic display device to talk for them, pictures and icons assist them as they respond to questions by pointing to the picture choices. The activity can be replicated at home as their parents or siblings read the text aloud to them and ask guide questions and my students will be able to respond by pointing to picture choices.
It is one fun way for families to learn and bond.
As such, we need a reliable printer and ink that can accommodate their growing vocabulary.
