We're working on these Nevada Standards based on their IEP Goals.
Language/Reading
-RF.K1d
Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
-RF.K.2d
Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
-RF.K.3a
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Mathematics
-K.CC.A.3
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
-K.CC.B.4a
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities: connect counting to cardinality. When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Other materials will also be helpful for my students as they need them to improve their fine motor skills, and also I can use them as a reinforcement for my students. As a Sped teacher for the first time in the district, it will help my students and me to have these materials.
For example, I have selected materials for identifying letters/alphabets. It will help my students improve their letter recognition as most of my students are in Kindergarten, and I have one who is non-verbal. I also requested a "safe jump trampoline" because I have a student who has a lot of energy, and I can use it now and then for her to release her energy and use it instead of running around or eloping.
