This project enriches principles & procedures of criminal and civil investigations. Areas of study include the history of forensic science, types of evidence, careers, legal and ethical issues, and exploring crime scenes.
This project will help will students develop teamwork and communication skills needed for career technical education and social-emotional learning.
This project will emphasize student teams on gathering information used to collect evidence, practice unbiased testimony, crime scene photography, and crime scene procedures while promoting CTE forensic science standards 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0.
The appropriate use of technology and industry-standard equipment is an integral part of this course. Students will use role-play games, reconstruct crime scenes with lego, practice crime sketching on graph paper and architecture computer apps, use tripods to take crime scene photos, and utilize computer cables to access technology already in the classroom.
