Please help me in meeting some of my students most basic needs. First Aid kits, to help heal their bodies. Books, to help heal their hearts and to remind them that they are the hero of their own story. These books have been hand selected to show my kids that everyone fights their own monsters in life but bravery, friendship, wit and sheer willpower can take you to places you've never believed are possible by doing things you never thought possible.
Small steps can lead to big changes! Clean drinking water, to help hydrate and refresh them during the day. High quality pens to promote expression, creativity and to improve writing skills, language and grammar. Stress balls, to help heal and relax their minds. Many of students are trying to overcome trauma caused by unimaginable circumstances they're facing in their lives right now. Stress and fidget toys help to relieve some of the anxiety and stress they are feeling.
Last but not least snacks, for the many kids who are not getting enough to eat at or from small school lunches. It is incredibly hard to focus and learn when students are not getting enough to eat. Helping to supply my students with these items that most people often over look will make a huge difference to them throughout the school day and even the school year. These items will make my students want to come to school, participate, read, and help reiterate the fact that they are truly loved and cared for. Sometimes, all kids need is to know someone is rooting for them, no matter the distance.
