Manipulatives and extra sensory items are useful for communication, math, and reading goals. Having sensory seeking students, it can be difficult to find ways of engaging them during instructional time. Items such as the ones I have selected help my students focus on the lessons and participate in the best way they can with their abilities.
Additionally, these tools help with their fine motor deficits. This helps them bridge the gap so that my they can succeed in all areas. For example the phonics set allows students to use clips (working with their fine motor skills) while creating simple CVC words.
