I am a first-year teacher and most of my students have autism and it is difficult for them to sit and stay at their desks for the majority of the day. With flexible seating and a timer, my students can have the opportunity to sit in different areas of the classroom to finish their work, read a book, color, or meet sensory needs. Flexible seating can also help our students with being able to participate in our whole classroom activities for a longer period of time.
Flexible seating can increase productivity for my students. My students will be able to retain more information when they are able to wobble, rock back and forth and lean back. Studies have also shown that flexible seating can increase oxygen and blood flow for younger minds. Thank you so much for your time and consideration in helping my kiddos!
