iPads are so much more to a student than a fun tablet. An iPad can be millions of books in the palm of their hands, visual math manipulatives, a VR Field Trip guide, a coding platform, and so much more.
As a teacher in the 21st century, we have to prepare our students for the future, and that means teaching them to use technology as a tool to be creative thinkers, problem solvers, and respectful members of a larger community. By having a different device in my classroom, we can use the iPad to use different apps to make our learning come to life.
Having an iPad in the classroom will allow students to engage with our curriculum in a new and engaging way. I want to use this iPad for our daily differentiated math centers and for students to use digital manipulatives when solving problems in math. My English Language Learners will greatly appreciate having an interactive device that provides visual aids on all of our math center assignments.
