As I mentioned, my students have yet to have a normal year in elementary school. The majority of my class came back to school this year after being fully remote last year, while others followed a hybrid model. Not only have their academics been impacted by these far from standard learning models, but so have their social skills.
It is very apparent that there is a loss in social skills, something that is so important for my 2nd grade students to have. The games in this project will enable my students to have positive social interactions with their peers and bring about greater language development as well. Along with this, these games incorporate language acquisition, math, critical thinking, phonics and STEAM work.
My students love to work for choice time. Filling my shelves with these games would mean the world to them. Not only would they enjoy them, but they would benefit from them in so many other ways! Let's have my students gain through games!
