With these books, I will create a classroom library where my students can find information to help them learn about the American Civil War while fostering a love of reading! My future, eighth graders will be able to use what they have learned from this book with engaging activities to help them better understand and expand upon the content they are learning in class. These book,s with supplemental activities, will help my student begin to use varied source material, develop an argument based on substantive claims, with strong evidence, and clear reasoning. SS.6-8.EWC.6
This is a book that will give them a different perspective of the Civil War than their day to day textbook!
I am also asking for a set of whiteboards. I will use these to allow for more participation in class. We often have students that are reluctant to participate and then there are the students that tend to dominate all conversations. These whiteboards will allow all students to write their answers and hold them up so that I can see what they think.
Since my students are starting to lose their pencils, the pouches will offer them a safe place to store their materials in their binders.
