Standards: MU:Pr4.2.1: with guidance, sing and play instruments to age-appropriate literature, MU:Cr3.3.2: present the final version of personal created music to others, and describe connection to expressive intent, MU.Pr6.2.1: perform music for a specific purpose with expression and technical accuracy through singing, performing and/or moving,
These resources will help my students reach the Nevada Academic Content Standards by providing them with materials to sing on pitch and compose their own masterpiece.
Each student will receive three boom whackers and one worksheet that has eight measures. Above each note will be a circle that students will have to color code with the boom whackers that they will be using. Each boom whacker has a certain pitch and color. Students will compose their song using the boom whackers and add their lyrics. They will practice their song using the boom whackers. Then they will use their boom whackers and sing their composition for their classmates.
In addition, these materials will give each student the safety of having their own instruments to minimize the transmission risk of COVID by previously having to share materials.
