Using these manipulatives will assist my students with adding and subtracting within 20 (1.OA.C.6) so they can learn to enjoy mathematics and understand different ways to add and subtract. These supplies will help the students in my classroom to practice reading words so they will be able to read on-level text with purpose and understanding (RF.1.4a). Along with this they will learn more about writing sentences to form narrative paragraphs (W1.3). These items will help instill the enjoyment of being lifelong readers and help my students do better throughout school with reading.
