I am the speech language pathologist at a Las Vegas Title I school. Most of my students have been greatly impacted during COVID-19 due to limited resources at home during this trying time. In addition, my students are at a greater disadvantage due to their speech and/or language delays. Furthermore, many of my students are English Language learners. I have limited resources that I can use to help them due to their individualized needs. I strive to create exciting, meaningful activities and worksheets to help supercharge their communication skills. However, I have a large caseload and limited time to create these materials. Due to my old slow laptop, my work becomes tedious and difficult to complete. It is frustrating when the computer takes twenty minutes to start, it shuts down randomly and does not function well in general. I would like to have the means to do more for my students, but I need your help to make my dreams a reality by having a good reliable laptop.
This new laptop would mean that my students will be able to complete virtual assessments, have a better means to record and maintain their data, track their progress, and most importantly receive individualized created materials for in and out of the classroom growth and support. It would be life-changing to have 21st-century technology to provide more opportunities for my students to succeed.
