We will be reading "Clap When You Land" by Elizabeth Acevedo in class. Students will be in groups of four and will be reading through the book together as a group. My hope is to engage students with a text that will allow them to meet standards in a different way. Students will work together to establish norms for their group work, hold themselves and peers accountable to team norms and shared responsibilities, ask clarifying questions, take notes to highlight the main points and important information, and condense the information into book reviews, which will be their final product.
