This project will provide an introduction to activities that students can participate in during their lifetime. Our PE Department strives to provide a variety of activities for students to experience that will allow them to be active throughout their lifetimes. With the Covid19 pandemic, many students have not had the daily opportunity to be physically active. The equipment selected for this project will continue our efforts to give students an opportunity to be active each day that they are at school.
Our PE program provides an outlet for many of our students to be active during their school day. Using the Nevada State Standards to guide our program, students experience a multitude of activities. Using standard 1, students demonstrate competency in motor skills, movement patterns, and safety needed to perform a variety of physical activities. The addition of the frisbee golf nets, weight bag, multiple-use foam balls, and cones will allow for a variety of activities that our students can participate in and become competent in. This equipment will be used throughout the school year for not only PE classes but our advisory classes will have an opportunity to check it out on activity Fridays. Over 800 students will be able to use this equipment throughout the school year.
The items selected for this project will enhance the PE Departments' curriculum by adding additional equipment that can be used to improve the physical activity of many of our students. It will also allow different physical activity experiences that students can learn and use throughout their lifetime. By using the Nevada State Physical Education standards, this equipment will be a valuable addition to our program.
