Imagine an English Language Arts classroom where every single student has access to reading an interesting book at their level. This is what I hope to offer students through this donors choose project.
Students deserve equitable access to books that represent and interest them, no matter their skill level. Be it through audio books plugged into headphones, a digital fluency program to be used on tablets, or in advanced reading groups, these supplies are to make reading less scary and more exciting for my students.
I have an amazing group of diverse students in my classroom, many who struggle with reading (even more post-pandemic) and supports such as audio book can be essential in building confidence and allowing students to access complex, grade level texts. These students deserve the world, and reading is a piece of that world. Please help me give them that!
