The whiteboard markers will be used every day as we work out and model our math thinking. When students use whiteboards, engagement always increases. The alphabet letters will be used to help us during our phonics lessons; hands-on materials will increase engagement. The letters will be used to sound out and construct the words. The privacy folders will assist students in feeling comfortable during summative test-taking. Third graders sometimes worry that others are viewing their work as we take tests. They worry about others copying their thoughts and work.
